
Foreign Tour: Women's Basketball Wraps Up Trip in Dubrovnik, Croatia

Day 8 — Tuesday, August 15
10:00 a.m. — the team departed the hotel in Split to start heading on the four hour drive to Dubrovnik.
12:00 p.m. — halfway through the trip, Rutgers stopped in the small town of Ston which features the largest remaining city wall in Europe. Team and staff had time to explore and eat lunch.



2:00 p.m. — the team finally arrived in the city of Dubrovnik. After a quick refresh in their rooms, everyone started a city tour, first doing a cable ride car over the city.
3:00 p.m. — everyone then walked around the old city, seeing ancient sites as well as some locations from the TV series “Game of Thrones.”
6:00 p.m. — RU returned to the hotel to get ready for dinner.
8:00 p.m. — the Scarlet Knights departed the hotel once again for their farewell dinner. The team went to Pjerin located at the Villa Dubrovnik hotel. The Michelin-starred restaurant sits right on the water of the Dalmatian coast, offering traditional and modern Mediterranean dishes. Everyone enjoyed a beautiful four-course meal to end the night.



Day 9 — Wednesday, August 16
8:30 a.m. — Rutgers was up bright and early for its last full day of the Foreign Tour. They hopped on a bus which took them to the Port of Dubrovnik, where they caught a private ferry to the Elaphiti Islands.
9:30 a.m. — At the first island, the team had the opportunity to hike around, enjoy the beach and jump off piers in the harbor.
10:30 a.m. — At the second island, RU enjoyed more beaches, hikes and had the chance to enjoy some local cuisine and coffee.
1:30 p.m. — the bus went back to the hotel so the team could get ready for their third and final game of the trip.
3:00 p.m. — Rutgers enjoyed a pregame meal in the hotel and some downtime before boarding the bus.
6:30 p.m. — RU defeated ŽKK Buducnost Podgorica, 87-68. Chyna Cornwell secured her third consecutive double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Destiny Adams led a group of five Scarlet Knights in scoring with 15 points. Erica Lafayette and Kassondra Brown also added 14 points apiece while Jill Huerter and Cornwell recorded 10 points each. Rutgers totaled 21 team assists as Mya Petticord led the way once again with seven helpers. Antonia Bates led Rutgers to reach 13 team assists, as she accumulated four takeaways.


9:00 p.m. — The Scarlet Knights returned to the hotel and had the night to themselves to enjoy their final hours in Croatia before heading to the airport in the morning.
Day 10 — Thursday, August 17
6:30 a.m. — the team departed Dubrovnik for the International Airport.
11:00 a.m. — RU departed the airport and was wheels up on a 10-hour flight bound for the Newark International Airport.
3:30 p.m. — Rutgers landed at Newark International Airport and began the ride back to Piscataway, New Jersey.
4:30 p.m. — The team finally arrived back at Jersey Mike's Arena and unloaded the bus to officially end their 2023 Foreign Tour.
