Lowrey’s Hat Trick Launches Women’s Soccer Over FDU

The senior secures the program’s first hat trick since 2019 as the Scarlet Knights top FDU, 7-0

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's soccer (2-1-1) secured a convincing return to the win column on Monday at Yurcak Field with a 7-0 victory over FDU (0-4-0), powered by Allison Lowrey's hat trick and nine different Scarlet Knights recording a point. The senior striker's three goals were the program's first hat trick since 2019.

SCORING SUMMARY

  • Lowrey's first goal came just two minutes later after some quick passing by Vicari and Allie Post in the box led to Lowrey's shot past the keeper and the 2-0 advantage.
  • Tiernan joined the party in the 9th minute after collecting a missed clear by the FDU keeper and tucking it into the open net.
  • Ashley Baran netted her first collegiate goal just before halftime in the 44th minute, finishing a pass from Sam Kroeger into the upper corner of the net.
  • Lowrey got her hat trick by scoring twice in three and a half minutes in the 57th and 60th minutes, first finishing passes from Tiernan and Vicari, then heading home her hat trick off a long cross from Emma Misal.
  • Gia Girman made it 7-0 in the 89th off an assist from freshman Olivia Russomanno, marking her first collegiate point.
