Guillermina Causarano Named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

First Offensive Player of the Week Award from the Big Ten For Field Hockey Since 2019
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – After recording a hat trick in the team's Sunday win over No. 18 UMass, Rutgers field hockey captain Guillermina Causarano was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
A native of Salta, Argentina, Causarano has set career-bests this season with seven goals and six assists for 20 points. The junior has played in 50 career games with 11 goals and 10 assists for 32 points.
This is the third straight week that RU was recognized by the Big Ten with a Player of the Week award. Puck Winter and Sophia Howard were recognized in the Defensive Player of the Week accolades the past two weeks.
Causarano shares the team lead with seven goals and holds the team-lead with six assists and 20 points. Causarano is fourth in the Big Ten in points per game and 13th nationally. She is tied for sixth in the league in goals, while she is second in the league in assists.
Causarano is a two-time team captain. A Second Team All-Region selection last year, she is on the NFHCA Collegiate Watch List for this season.
This is the second career weekly award for Causarno, as she earned a Freshman of the Week accolade in 2021. She is the first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week winner from Rutgers since Austyn Cuneo in October of 2019.
