PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's soccer (2-2-2) dropped a 2-0 final score to No. 14 Georgetown (4-0-1) on a balmy Monday afternoon at Yurcak Field.
SCORING SUMMARY
- Georgetown scored twice in the second half to break the deadlock, with the first score coming in the 55th minute by Henley Tippins off a corner kick.
- A minute and 27 seconds later, the Hoyas went ahead 2-0 after a shot from the corner of the 18-yard box by Allie Winstanley.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
- Olivia Bodmer made a leaping save in the 33rd minute, tipping a one-time volley attempt by Grace Sherman within the six-yard box to keep the game scoreless going into halftime.
STAT SHEET
- The Hoyas outshot the Scarlet Knights, 15-8, edging Rutgers, 6-5, in shots on goal.
- Gia Vicari, facing her old team, recorded a season-high five shots. Vicari was the leading scorer for the Hoyas over the last two seasons for the three-time defending Big East champions.
