Gia Vicari Signs Pro Contract in Denmark

Rutgers forward will report to Odense Boldklub on an 18-month deal

DENMARK – Former Rutgers women's soccer player Gia Vicari is headed to Denmark on a professional contract with Odense Boldklub Q of the Kvinde-DM Liga. The deal runs through the summer of 2025.

"I am looking forward to starting in OB Q," Vicari said in a release on the team's website. "It is a club with big ambitions like me and it suits me very well. I look forward to being part of a historic club and I look forward to achieving the goals we have set together. I already have a really good impression of the city, the club, and the people in the club, and I am sure that this will be a good experience."

Vicari played her graduate season with Rutgers after transferring from Georgetown, where she was the leading scorer for the three-time Big East champions. The Reading, Pennsylvania native scored six points on two goals and two assists in 14 matches as a Scarlet Knight in 2023. That gave Vicari a total of 73 points in her college career spanning 90 matches with 27 goals and 19 assists.

She embarks on a professional soccer career with significant collegiate accolades as a United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team selection, a three-time All-Big East First Team pick, and a Top 10 scorer all-time in the Hoyas' record book.

Vicari joins an extensive club of Scarlet Knights playing professional soccer across the globe, including eight former Rutgers players that competed in the NWSL last season and United States National Team goalkeeper Casey Murphy.
