Dylan Harper Named to Preseason 2024-25 All-Big Ten Team

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's basketball's freshman point guard Dylan Harper was one of ten players to be selected to the 2024 Preseason All-Big Ten team as voted on by select media across the conference.

Harper joins his brother Ron Harper Jr. (2021-22) as one of four players in Rutgers history to receive the honor since the school joined the Big Ten Conference in 2014. Center Clifford Omoruyi (2023-24), and guard Geo Baker (2020-21) received all-conference preseason honors.

The list consists of ten players from ten different teams across the conference.

"It's surreal to be here after watching the guys that came before me," Harper said at the team's local media day last week. "Those teams, just watching them play I always had that look in my eye and knew I wanted to be here one day. I want to be on this court. Just having the opportunity to play and knowing that I can make something happen here for Rutgers Nation is special."

Harper was a standout guard from local Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, New Jersey, who brings exceptional talent and a highly decorated high school career to the Scarlet Knights. Harper is the No. 2 player in the 2024 high school class, among the most highly anticipated recruits in Rutgers basketball history. Harper was named the MVP of the McDonald's All-American game and the National High School Morgan Wooton Player of the Year.

"At the end of the day no one is going to remember individual stats, people are going to remember wins and losses," Harper said. "One-through-15 we have a hard-working group that's committed to the same goal, and we are working hard to show what we are capable of this season."

Harper showed off his skills over the weekend at The Knighthood Showcase intra-squad scrimmage at Jersey Mike's where he scored 17 points, had six assists, three rebounds, and two steals in 24 minutes.

Harper was the only freshman in the conference to garner All-Preseason Big Ten honors.
