PISCATWAY, N.J. – An early from Nestor Cabrera wasn't enough to propel Rutgers men's soccer (4-7-2, 1-4-1 B1G) over Northwestern (7-5, 1-4 B1G), as they dropped a 2-1 decision on Friday night.
Following Cabrera's score, Northwestern matched the goal just before the break to tie, 1-1. In the 68th minute the Wildcats struck against the solidify the one-goal victory.

Game Notes
- Cabrera's goal was the second of his career and the 2024 season. He now has five points this season as he also had an assist at Wisconsin (Oct. 4).
- Ciaran Dalton made two saves in net, bringing his season total to 53 stops.
- Freshman Scott Godden started his 12th outing while Arnar Adalsteinsson his 11th for the Scarlet Knights.
- Other rookies in Matty Lynch and Illia Tyrkus also got on the pitch.

Looking Ahead
Exactly one week later, RU will remain at Yurcak Field to host UCLA on Friday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. The team will celebrate NJ Youth Soccer Night.
