PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – The Rutgers men's golf team finished in 8
th-place at the White Sands Collegiate in Paradise Island in the Bahamas this weekend.
The event was hosted by West Virginia and featured 12 teams. Captain upperclassman
Noah Kumar led the way with a 74-69-69 (-4) performance which landed him with a 20
th-place individual finish in the event.
Fellow captain
Weston Jones had a stellar first round in which he posted an under-par performance at 71 (-1).
Weston Jones finished in 38
th place. Freshman
Bennett Espenshade finished at level par with an impressive showing of 73-71-72. Espenshade finished in 32
nd place of all competitors in the event. Fellow freshman Argyle Downs had an incredible second-round performance of 70 (-2). Downs finished in 35
th place for the Scarlet Knights.
The team's 8
th-place finish of -5 was fueled by team rounds under par on day two (-5) and day three (-1). Charleston finished the event in first place with a team finish of (-50).
The Scarlet Knights have wrapped up their fall season and look forward to picking things back up in the Spring when they compete at the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate in Puerto Rico on Sunday Feb. 9.
