PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Rutgers women's basketball team (7-4, 0-1 B1G) defeated Wagner (2-7), 86-48, at Jersey Mike's Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Kiyomi McMiller and Destiny Adams led the way for the Scarlet Knights, both notching double-doubles. McMiller recorded 24 points and 10 rebounds, to go along with two steals, while Adams added 17 points and 13 rebounds along with three takeaways.
JoJo Lacey (11) and Mya Petticord (10) also reached double-digits with Lacey also grabbing seven boards and knocking down three shots beyond the arc.
Off the bench, Janae Walker's six points tied her career-high while her five boards set a new personal best. In the fourth quarter, Deja Young netted her first points as a Scarlet Knight and Kennedy Brandt scored her first points of the season.
How it Happened
- Wagner was held scoreless for the first three minutes of the game, but then both teams traded baskets until the 3:39 media timeout with Rutgers up, 10-6.
- RU ended the first quarter on a 9-3 run thanks to another buckets from Lacey and Chyna Cornwell.
- Both teams stayed scoreless to start the second quarter until Lacey's layup with just over eight minutes to go gave RU a double-digit lead.
- Mya Petticord knocked down a three-pointer along with a McMiller jumper, but Wagner stuck around and brought the lead back down to single digits.
- McMiller and Petticord once again did the damage putting the Scarlet Knights up, 33-19, heading to the media stoppage at 4:55.
- Rutgers caught fire after the break going on a 12-2 run to end the quarter and headed into the locker room with the 45-21 advantage.
- Out of the locker room, Wagner scored first, but it was all Scarlet Knights after that. Adams and McMiller both went on respective 5-0 runs, to force the Seahawks to call a timeout with 5:21 remaining and RU in control, 55-25.
- Wagner kept fighting however, trading baskets with Cornwell and Zachara Perkins as the third quarter came to a close, with the Scarlet Knights ono top, 60-34.
- Petticord scored right away for RU and Perkins added a shot beyond the arc before Wagner scored with 7:41 remaining.
- After that, the Scarlet Knights pulled away scoring eight straight, including six consecutive points from Janae Walker, to force a Wagner timeout at the 5:43 mark. McMiller scored right away after the break, capping off the Rutgers 10-0 stretch and keeping RU in control, 75-36.
- Both teams would trade baskets the rest of the way, but not before Deja Young added her first points as a Scarlet Knight and Kennedy Brandt scored her first points of the season. Rutgers steamrolls past the Seahawks, 86-48.

Knights Notes
- With 24 points and 10 rebounds, Kiyomi McMiller recorded the third double-double of her career, including her second in a row, and seventh career 20+ point game.
- Destiny Adams' 17 points and 13 rebounds marked the 12th double-double of her career and fourth of the season so far.
- JoJo Lacey had her best three-point game as a Scarlet Knight shooting 3-for-4 (75 percent) from beyond the arc on the day.
- The Scarlet Knights are 3-0 when four or more players reach double figures.
- Rutgers held Wagner to its lowest three-point percentage of the season so far of 22 percent (5-of-23).
- RU outrebounded the Seahawks 51-35, the fourth time this season the squad has reached 50+ boards.
- The Scarlet Knights stayed perfect against Wagner, now owning an 8-0 all-time record against the Seahawks.
- Rutgers recorded 20 times against Wagner, a season best. McMiller paces the team with 38 total helpers.
- RU also set season highs in three-pointers attempted (28) and made (10).
- Deja Young scored the first points of her career off her first shot in her second appearance of the season.
- Kennedy Brandt also netted her first points of the slate with a three in her fifth time on the floor this campaign.

Rutgers will play one more game before the holiday break, facing off against Lafayette on Dec. 21 at noon for the Holiday Hoops game. The team will finish out its homestand after a week off versus No. 11/8 Ohio State (Dec. 29).
