PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Destiny Adams recorded her second consecutive Big Ten double-double as the Rutgers women's basketball team (8-20, 2-13 B1G) fell to Wisconsin (12-12, 5-9 B1G), 61-43, on Saturday afternoon at Jersey Mike's Arena for its annual Play4Kay game. 
Adams paced the scoring for the Scarlet Knights with her 18 points. The junior also grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds. 
Mya Petticord was the second-leading scorer for RU with nine points, along with four rebounds and two assists. 
The Scarlet Knights honored cancer warriors with a special pregame reception as well as a halftime celebration. The team welcomed 80 survivors to Jersey Mike's Arena to total over 579 years of survivorship.  
 
 
How it Happened 
	- Wisconsin opened the game with 12-straight points to jump out to an early lead. Adams got RU on the board at the 4:57 mark with a layup. 
 
	- Petticord, Kassondra Brown, and Chyna Cornwell each added a field goal in the final four minutes of the quarter, but the Badgers held a 16-8 edge heading into the second. 
 
 
	- The Badgers went on an 8-0 run at the start of the period, before Antonia Bates used a layup to end the stretch.  
 
	- Adams added another layup for Rutgers, but Wisconsin continued to extend its edge, using two layups to go up, 28-12. 
 
	- With five minutes to play in the half, Petticord recorded back-to-back layups to cut into the Badgers' lead. Following a 4:09 media break, the Scarlet Knights faced a 28-16 deficit.  
 
	- Adams added a layup in the final minute of the half, as Rutgers remained down, 30-18, heading into the locker room.  
 
	- Wisconsin quickly scored the second half's first points with a layup 31 seconds in. Bates then added a free throw for RU, but the Badgers kept their scoring up with two additional field goals, forcing the Scarlet Knights to take a timeout.  
 
	- Brown knocked down a three-pointer to keep the Scarlet Knights within 20 right before a 4:37 media break. Just three seconds after the timeout, Erica Lafayette added her first points of the contest with another three for RU. 
 
 
	- Adams recorded the final six points of the quarter for either team, helping Rutgers to get within 14 heading into the final ten minutes of play. 
 
	- After Wisconsin opened the fourth with three-straight points, the Scarlet Knights looked to get themselves back into the contest. Adams added a pair of makes at the charity stripe, but the Badgers continued to hold their double-digit lead.  
 
	- Lafayette netted her second three of the game, but Rutgers still faced a 56-38 deficit with 4:48 to play. 
 
 
	- Petticord (3) and Adams (2) each added points in the final three minutes of the contest, but Wisconsin went on to claim the 61-43 win.

Knights Notes 
	- Adams ended the contest with 18 points. She has now recorded double-digit points in the past 13 contests and 10+ points 23 times this season. 
 
	- Along with her double-figure scoring performance, Adams' 10 rebounds helped the junior record her seventh career and fourth B1G double-double.   
 
	- Brown dished out a season-best five assists.  
 
	- Bates paced the squad with three steals, her second game in a row and third of the season with 3+ takeaways. 
 
	- RU bested the Badgers in second chance points (7-5) and off the bench (11-6).   
 
	- Rutgers still owns the 12-6 all-time edge over Wisconsin.

Next Up 
Following its two-game road stretch, Rutgers will now head on the road for a pair of contests, first heading to Maryland on Wednesday, Feb. 21 for a 7 p.m. game. From there, the team will travel to Michigan State Saturday, Feb. 24 (2 p.m.).
