March 8
9:00 p.m. - The team took off from JFK Airport on a seven hour flight to Madrid.
March 9
9:45 p.m. - Rutgers landed in Madrid and begins journey to the hotel.
11:00 p.m. - The squad arrived at the hotel and began to explore Madrid. Some groups went to Plaza Mayor while other ventured off on their own to explore the area around the hotel with various shops and restaurants.

7:30 p.m. - The team went for its first group dinner at Restaurant La Catedral Cafe. They enjoyed risotto, chicken and a yogurt dessert.
March 10
11:00 a.m. - The Scarlet Knights walked over from the hotel to the famous, Museo Del Prado. There, players and staff had the opportunity to look at famous paintings and other art by artists like Goya and Rembrandt and Velázquez.
2:00 p.m. - After more exploring and lunch, the team went to Spain’s Royal Palace. Everyone explored the stunning grounds and the palace itself. They went through multiple rooms, seeing the original throne, crown and other historic artifacts.



9:30 p.m. - RU ended the night with dinner at Gusto’s where all enjoyed Spain’s national dish, Paella, along with other seafood.
March 11
11:00 a.m. - after a late breakfast the team headed out to the Athletico Madrid stadium where they did a full tour. They were able to see the media room, go on the field and see other behind the scenes areas.






4:30 p.m. - the team headed to the outskirts of Madrid to play in its first game. The team won 7-0 as Curt Calov (2), Nestor Carrera, Nick Collins (2) and Ola Maeland (2) all found the back of the net in the contest.

8:30 p.m. - RU finished out the night with a traditional Spanish dinner of small plats at Tapa Tapa.
March 12
11:00 - Rutgers returned once again to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for a full tour of the stadium. The team got to go through a museum, see all the trophies the team has won and see the field from a lower level.








1:00 p.m. - Everyone had a free afternoon to explore Madrid before departing in a couple days. Some went shopping, walked around or had some lunch.
7:45 p.m. - The team got together for dinner at La Rayua. The restaurant opened only for the team and served a variety of Spanish cuisine.
March 13
9:00 a.m. - The Scarlet Knights were up bright and early to head to the ancient city of Toledo. The team boarded a bus for the hour bus ride. 10:15 a.m. - Everyone got to go off on their own to explore the medieval city. Some took a tour while others wandered within the city walls.

1:00 p.m. - RU headed to the top of the mountain for a pregame meal with a view.
4:00 p.m. - Rutgers played in its second game, where they also won, 3-0. Maeland, Ian Abbey and Nico Rosamilia all scored in the outing. 7:00 p.m. - Finally, to round out the full day, the team attended the Champions League game between Inter Milan and Atlético Madrid. Atlético came out on top, 2-1.
