PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse (5-4, 0-2) lost to No. 16 Yale (7-0), 14-8, on Sunday afternoon at SHI Stadium. Facing their second consecutive top-20 undefeated foe, the Scarlet Knights pulled within two goals in the second half before the Bulldogs used a 4-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter to exit Piscataway with the win.

Cassidy Spilis netted a goal to go along with a team-high five draw controls. Senior
Ashley Moynahan caused a team-best two turnovers and classmate
Sophia Cardello registered eight saves in the loss.
Yale used a 37-18 shot advantage and 14 draw controls to secure the out-of-conference victory. Sky Carrasquillo let all scores with four goals, while Jenna Collignon added a hat trick.
The Bulldogs scored the first two games of the afternoon before Dixon found a cutting Goldrick to make it 2-1 with 7:29 in the opening quarter. Goldrick then returned the favor to Dixon, who finished to tie the game at 2-2 less than two minutes later. Both teams traded scoring before the first break, as back-to-back goals from Yale gave it a 5-3 lead after the first 15. Scoring remained at a premium in the second quarter, as Dixon netted the only goal for RU during that stretch courtesy of a free position attempt. The Bulldogs entered halftime with a 7-4 lead.
Rutgers outscored Yale, 4-3, in the third quarter, bringing the score within two out of the locker room. Goals from Spilis and Warren made it just 8-6 in favor of the Bulldogs. Warren and senior Kate Caolonza then responded to a quick 2-0 scoring run from Yale to pull the Scarlet Knights within two once again at the end of the quarter. However, Yale used a 4-0 scoring run to put the game away in the fourth quarter.
