No. 22 Women’s Lacrosse Begins Four-Game Homestand Sunday with Oregon

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 22 Rutgers women's lacrosse (4-1) hosts Oregon (4-0) on Sunday at SHI Stadium. First draw is set for noon on Big Ten Network, with Jason Knapp and Sheehan Stanwick Burch on the call. The game is the first of four consecutive home dates for the Scarlet Knights in March.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools in program history. The Ducks will be one of two new teams (USC) to join the Big Ten Conference beginning next spring.

Admission and parking for all home games are free. Fans planning to park must register their vehicles with the University through this link. Visitors only need to register their vehicle once for the entire season. Parking for 2024 home games is in the Scarlet Lot outside the West entrance of SHI Stadium.

Sunday is also RU's Pride Game, as the program continues to support and create awareness for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Last Time Out
  • The Scarlet Knights suffered their first loss of the season to No. 23 Princeton, 13-10, on Wednesday night at Sherrerd Field. Graduate student Cassidy Spilis tallied a team-high five goals, six ground balls, six draw controls and three caused turnovers in the loss.
  • Battling steady rain throughout the night, the Scarlet Knights held a 4-1 lead before the Tigers rallied back to outscore RU, 12-6, in the final three quarters. RU cut Princeton's lead to three goals twice in the fourth quarter, but the Tigers would maintain steady possession in the final 10 minutes for the out-of-conference win.
  • Spilis netted five goals, including three in the first half, for her third five-plus scoring outing of the season. Rookie Payton Tini added two goals, while sophomore Lily Dixon dished out a team-high two assists.

Moving on Up!
  • Rutgers moved up to spots to No. 22 in this week's IWLCA Coaches Poll. It is the fourth consecutive season the Scarlet Knights have earned a national ranking. RU has been as high as No. 8 in the poll during regular season play under Lehman, achieved during the first few weeks of the 2023 campaign.
  • RU is one of six Big Ten programs ranked in this week's poll, joining No. 3 Northwestern, No. 6 Michigan, No. 9 Maryland, No. 15 Johns Hopkins and No. 25 Penn State.

Spilis Leading the Way

  • With her 215 career goals, Spilis ranks third amongst active players in Division I in that category, trailing only Northwestern's Izzy Scane (306) and James Madison's Isabella Peterson (240).

Goldrick Back in the Mix
  • After missing her first two seasons due to injury, junior Victoria Goldrick has been a standout for the Scarlet Knights with 13 points on eight assists and five goals in 2024.
