PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse (5-4, 0-2) faces No. 2 Maryland (8-1, 1-0) on Sunday in College Park. First draw is set for noon ET and will broadcast nationally on Big Ten Network, with Jason Knapp and Taylor Cummings on the call.
Sunday's matchup against the Terrapins begins a two-game road swing against the top two opponents in the country. The Scarlet Knights will also play at No. 1 Northwestern next Saturday in Evanston, Illinois. With Michigan ranked No. 3 in this week's IWLCA Coaches' Poll, RU will have faced the top-three opponents nationally by the end of the month.
- RU lost to No. 16 Yale, 14-8, on Sunday afternoon at SHI Stadium. Facing their second consecutive top-20 undefeated foe, the Scarlet Knights pulled within two goals in the second half before the Bulldogs used a 4-0 scoring run in the fourth quarter to exit Piscataway with the win.
- Junior Victoria Goldrick and sophomore Lily Dixon both tallied five points with two goals and three assists apiece. Junior Michelle Warren scored two goals in the second half, while graduate student Cassidy Spilis netted a goal to go along with a team-high five draw controls. Senior Ashley Moynahan caused a team-best two turnovers and classmate Sophia Cardello registered eight saves in the loss.
- Rutgers is in the midst of playing six ranked foes in a span of seven games. The stretch includes matchups with four opponents within the top 10 and back-to-back road games against the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the country.

- Through the first half of the season, Spilis leads the team and is second in the Big Ten in goals (36) and goals per game (4.00). Spilis is also third in the conference and 31st nationally with 5.78 draw controls per game.
- With 241 career points, Spilis needs 26 to pass current assistant coach Taralyn Naslonski for the most points in program history.
- Spilis 228 career goals are third amongst active players in Division I, only trailing Northwestern's Izzy Scane (325) and James Madison's Isabella Peterson (254).
- After missing her first two seasons due to injury, Goldrick has been a standout for the Scarlet Knights with 25 points on a team-high 18 assists and eight goals in 2024. Her 18 assists are third in the Big Ten and 22nd nationally.
- The Terrapins enter Sunday with an 8-1 record and are currently on a five-game winning streak. UMD defeated Georgetown, 13-7, on Wednesday in its last time out.
- Maryland is third in the country in scoring defense, allowing just 7.22 goals per game. The Terrapins also are second in the conference in draw control percentage with a .613 average.
- Eloise Clevenger has dished out a conference-best 33 assists this season. Hannah Leubecker is Maryland's top goal scorer with 22.
- UMD leads the all-time series with Rutgers, 25-1. Maryland defeated the Scarlet Knights, 15-9, in last year's Big Ten semifinals in the programs' last meeting
