PISCATAWAY, N.J. – For the third time in her career, graduate student
Cassidy Spilis has been named a Inside Lacrosse/ILWomen Midseason All-American, announced by the publication on Thursday. Spilis earned third-team laurels by the publication heading into the second half of the season.
Spilis ranks within the top 50 of 10 statistical categories nationally through her first 10 games of the season. The Tabernacle, New Jersey, native is second in the Big Ten and ninth nationally with 41 goals, having scored five or more goals six times in 2024. Spilis is also second in the conference in goals per game (4.10), fourth in draw controls per game (5.60), fifth in points per game (4.40) and sixth in points (44). Spilis has combined for 44 points on 41 goals and three assists along with 56 draw controls, 21 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers.
Spilis has established herself as one of the top offensive players in program history as she sits atop the school record book with 233 career goals in 73 career games. Spilis is 21 points away from surpassing current assistant coach Taralyn Naslosnki (266) for the points record at Rutgers and ranks second in school history with 271 career draw controls and seventh in career caused turnovers with 79.
A three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection, Spilis has earned postseason All-America and IWLCA All-Region recognition in each of the past three seasons. The team captain is a three time First Team All-Big Ten pick and was named the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year in 2022. Spilis opened this season with four consecutive Big Ten Midfielder of the Week honors.
