PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's lacrosse midfielder
Shane Knobloch was recognized on Thursday among the nation's top players as he was tabbed as one of the top 25 nominees for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award. The pre-eminent lacrosse award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
Knobloch is one of just two midfielders on the men's top 25, joined by Georgetown midfielder Graham Bundy. There are just five other players from the Big Ten recognized.
The Moorestown, N.J. native has previously been recognized as a First Team Midseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse and ranked as a potential First Round selection in the Premier Lacrosse League Draft. Dating back to last season, Knobloch has a 21-game goal scoring streak, the 11
th longest in the nation and second longest of any midfielder.
Knobloch has 27 goals and 11 assists for 38 points and leads RU in goals. He has 10 multi-goal games this season, including five hat tricks. He is seventh in the nation among midfielders in goals and stands at 96 for his career, just four shy of becoming the 13
th RU player all-time to reach the century mark.
This is the second straight season that Knobloch made the Tewaaraton Award Top 25. He was joined last season and this season by
Ross Scott on the initial Watch List.

Five men's and five women's finalists will be selected from these groups, to be announced May 9 at the conclusion of the regular season.
