Max Melton's selection in the
second round of the NFL Draft, six more from Rutgers football signed contracts in recent days. That makes it 104 Scarlet Knights to join the NFL after playing for head coach
Greg Schiano. In addition, two others are headed to rookie minicamps for a chance to compete for a roster spot.

SHAWN BOWMAN
Bowman played in all 13 games last season for the Scarlet Knights, making four starts at tight end. The Bear, Delaware, native was a two-time All-CAA selection at Maine and finished his collegiate career playing in 47 games with 90 receptions for 984 yards and 11 touchdowns.
ISAIAH ITON
Iton started all 13 games at defensive tackle for the Scarlet Knights last season, totaling 38 tackles with 1.5 for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery. The Houston, Texas, native played in 48 collegiate games overall and made 82 stops.
JAQUAE JACKSON
Jackson ranked second on the Scarlet Knights with 361 receiving yards on 22 catches last season, including a touchdown grab versus No. 1/3 Ohio State. He was graded as a No. 9 wide receiver in the Big Ten by
Pro Football Focus. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native finished his collegiate career with 170 receptions for 2,481 yards and 24 touchdowns in 42 games.
DEION JENNINGS
Leading the Scarlet Knights in tackles and being named honorable mention All-Big Ten each of the past two seasons, Jennings played in 58 games for RU to tie the school record. He totaled 251 career tackles with 19.5 for loss and 13 passes defended. The linebacker posted 95 stops last season, including a key tackle-for-loss on a fourth down in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl win over Miami. The Sicklerville, New Jersey, native earned the 2022 Homer Hazel Award as the team's most valuable player after ranking seventh in the Big Ten with 8.3 tackles per game.
JUDE MCATAMNEY
McAtamney played in 25 games the past two seasons at Rutgers after starting off at Chowan. From Derry, Ireland, he booted 76 touchbacks on 166 kickoffs for the Scarlet Knights, including a single-season school record 40 touchbacks (67 percent) in 2023. He made 18 field goals at the collegiate level with a long of 49 yards.
ISAIAH WASHINGTON
Washington played in 58 games over the past five seasons to tie the program record. The wide receiver from Jacksonville, Florida, totaled 927 receiving yards on 74 catches with three touchdowns. He started all 13 games last season and ranked second on the team with 25 catches.
MAYAN AHANOTU
A two-time team captain and three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, Ahanotu earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors in 2023. The defensive lineman played in 50 career games, including 45 for Rutgers with 21 starts, and collected 55 tackles with 10.5 for loss. The Tampa, Florida, native was previously named a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.
IRELAND BROWN
Brown saw action on both sides of the ball for the Scarlet Knights, playing in 42 collegiate games overall. The Jamaica, New York, native was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and part of an offensive line this past season that ranked first in the Big Ten in fewest sacks allowed per game (1.08) and fifth in rushing (168.7).
