PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Join Eric LeGrand and Rutgers football for a celebration of "A Walk to Believe" as part of R Community Game on Saturday, Sept. 7 at SHI Stadium. The game, slated for a noon kickoff, is presented by GGL Law Firm. LeGrand's walk is sponsored by Prudential and GGL Law Firm.

LeGrand announced at the Scarlet-White Game that the 14th annual "A Walk to Believe" will happen throughout the summer, encouraging everyone to run, walk, skate or roll to a 5K at their own time and pace. The event culminates at SHI Stadium on Sept. 7, as LeGrand is set to lead participants down a parade along The Rutgers Boardwalk. Registration is open for $52 ($25 for students), including a t-shirt, a ticket to the game versus Akron and access to a pregame exclusive tailgate in Tailgate City at Athlete's Glen.

The Rutgers Boardwalk, presented by the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, returns to highlight the pregame festivities around SHI Stadium. Stop by Scarlet Knight Way to enjoy the top food trucks in New Jersey, experience free rides, games, interactive experiences, prizes and live entertainment. Giveaways include "Beat Akron" buttons and shakers. In addition, RWJBarnabas Health, Horizon, Pizza Hut and ShopRite will be present for special activations. RWJBarnabas Health will also present the "Shining Knight" during the game.

Get to The Rutgers Boardwalk early for the pregame parade and pep rally featuring The Scarlet Knight Marching Band, Spirit Team, the Scarlet Knight horse "Excalibur" with the Knight and the football team arrival. The Rutgers Boardwalk opens at 8 a.m.

Spirit Day will be celebrated at SHI Stadium. Rutgers invites all cheer and dance programs in the area to be part of the pregame pep rally and the halftime show with the RU Cheer & Dance program. Registration is now open.

The RU Reading program is back with the goal of motivating and rewarding K-8 students. Those who complete the reading goal are eligible for a free ticket to the game versus Howard (Aug. 29) or Akron (Sept. 7) with the purchase of one additional ticket.
