No. 13 Rowing Wins Two C/D Semifinals at NCAA Championships

The Varsity 4 moves on to Sunday's petite final
The Varsity 8 boat won a thrilling C/D semifinal that saw the Scarlet Knights edge No. 14 Virginia in a photo finish and a 0.289-second edge. RU trailed Virginia by a seat or two at the 1000-meter mark before making their winning move before 1,500 meters and holding on for the semifinal win and a spot in Sunday's C final.
The 2nd Varsity 8 finished a full boat ahead of the competition, putting 4.886 seconds ahead of No. 10 Syracuse. Similar to their V8 teammates, the 2V8 trailed ever so slightly at 500 and 1,000 meter before overtaking the Orange by 1.5 seconds at the 1,500-meter mark and turning on the afterburners over the final 500 meters to win the race comfortably at the line.
Racing in the A/B semifinals with three spots to Sunday's grand final on the line, the Varsity 4 finished fifth behind No. 1 Texas, No. 5 Yale, No. 7 Washington, and No. 6 California.The Scarlet Knights finished around five seconds ahead of No. 11 Pennsylvania and will join them in the petite final on Sunday to determine national places 7-12.
