For the third-straight year, Rutgers will send competitors to the outdoor championships on both men's and women's side. The Scarlet Knights qualified a program-record 22 for the 2023 NCAA East First Round in Lexington, Kentucky.
The four events match the most events qualified for at the outdoor championships since 2018. That year, RU sent five competitors in four events, including men's hammer, men's 400-meter, men's 400-meter hurdles and the men's 4x400-meter relay.
At the NCAA East First Round, Timberg finished in a tie for sixth, clearing 4.30m (14' 1.25") to advance to her third-consecutive trip to the NCAA Championships. She enters competition having posted a school record and personal best 4.60m (15' 1") at the Penn Relays.
Bridgett is making his return to the NCAA Championships after missing out on last year's event due to injury. He led the field East First Round, posting a distance of 7.76m (25' 5.5") to qualify for his third career appearance at the championships.
Brown finished fourth at the East First Round, jumping 6.28m (20' 7.25") to earn her first trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships, while O'Sullivan placed eighth (5.32m/17' 5.5") and will make his championship debut.
