THE HAGUE, Netherlands – Rutgers field hockey alumn Iris Langejans is set for her professional field hockey debut Sunday, with the regular season opener for HDM Dames 1 in Holland. Langejans plays in the top division of field hockey in the Netherlands, the Hoofdeklasse.

Langejans returned to her home country to play professionally following a stellar three seasons on the field at Rutgers.  The native of Almelo, Netherlands started 61 games from 2021 to 2023, scoring five goals and adding 15 assists in that time.

Langejans made a tremendous impact during her time on the field at Rutgers, leading the squad to the NCAA Tournament in two of her three seasons. She was a two-time All-American (First Team last season), two-time First Team All-Big Ten and a two-time First Team All-Region.

Last season, Langejans was the Big Ten Player of the Year and Mid Atlantic Region Player of the Year. She was a finalist for the Honda Sport Award for Field Hockey and was named to the NFHCA Senior Team.
