PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers men's lacrosse alumn Shane Knobloch was drafted in the 2024 NLL Draft on Sunday. The Philadelphia Wings selected Knobloch with the 46th overall pick as the indoor pro lacrosse league held its selections on Sunday night following the conclusion of the summer outdoor season (the PLL). 

This represents the second pro lacrosse draft selection for Knobloch over the past four months. Knobloch was previously the first midfielder selected in the 2024 Collegiate Draft, the fourth overall selection (highest drafted RU player in history). The 2024 First Team All-American and national Midfielder of the Year for RU played in 10 games this summer in the PLL for the Carolina Chaos with 11 goals and three assists along with 11 ground balls.

Knobloch's selection gave RU a draft pick in the NLL for the fourth straight season. He followed Brandon Hund (Philadelphia Wings, 74th overall, 2023), Brian Cameron (Toronto Rock, 36th overall, 2022) and Adam Charalambides (Vancouver Warriors, 4th overall, 2021) in being selected over the past four drafts. 

Last season, Rutgers had three alumns play in the NLL. Charalambides, Joe Nardella (Albany Firewolves) and Connor Kirst (Las Vegas Desert Dogs) had strong campaigns in the indoor league. 

The 2024-25 season schedule for the NLL is yet to be released. The league typically starts in December and plays through the winter.
