Swimming & Diving Claims 14 Victories In Dual Meet Victory Over Fordham

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's swimming and diving got it done in its final nonconference dual meet of the 2024-25 campaign as the Scarlet Knights took a 187.00-108.00 victory over Fordham on Friday night at the Rutgers Aquatics Center.

| FROM THE POOL DECK |
- Altogether, Rutgers picked up 14 event victories with individual wins by eight different Scarlet Knights and went 1-2-3 in the 500 and 1000 free and 200 fly.
- Multiple individual wins were captured by four Knights, including a trio of victories by graduate student Shannon Meadway in the 200 free, 200 back and 200 IM.
- Additionally, freshman Katerina Hoffman swept 1M and 3M, junior Megan Fox captured distance wins in the 500 and 1000 free and graduate student Molly Urkiel took the top spot in both the 100 and 200 breast. Urkiel also added a win with the 200 free relay to end the night.
- Hoffman's score on 1M moved the Scarlet Knight into fifth on the RU top 10 list.
- Other event wins came from junior Martyna Piesko in the 100 back, junior Cameron Kuriger in the 100 fly and freshman Allie Allen's first-ever Scarlet Knight event win coming in the 100 free.
| SPRINTS |
- Shannon Meadway was the top finisher in the 200 free (1:53.91), 200 back (2:00.42) and 200 IM (2:05.32).
- Molly Urkiel continued to lead the Scarlet Knights in the breast, taking first in both the 100 and 200 breast. She hit the wall in 1:02.44 in the 100 breast edging out teammate Sofia Bartoloni's time of 1:04.15. Urkiel claimed a 4.51-second margin win in the 200 breast (2:14.53) with Bartoloni taking third (2:20.86).
- Fly victories came from Cameron Kuriger in the 100 fly (55.57) and Viktoriia Kostromina in the 200 fly (2:03.57). Rutgers finished 1-2-3 in the 200 fly as Kostromina was followed by Kuriger (2:04.12) and Ellie Schinsky (2:04.55). Schinsky was also third in the 100 fly (56.80).
- Martyna Piesko added a win in the 100 back (55.75) as Natalie Schick took third (59.16). Piesko was also the runner-up in the 50 free (24.21).
- Allie Allen posted her first-ever Scarlet Knight victory with the top time in the 100 free (54.03), while Brooke Thompson finished third (54.45).
- Grace Weaver added a third-place result in the 200 back (2:05.58).

- Megan Fox led the distance corps as RU went 1-2-3 against the Rams. Fox came in first in 5:09.25 in the 500 free and raced to a 5.28-second margin of victory in the 1000 free in 10:23.86.
- The 500 free saw Isabela Valle take second (5:09.59) and Orian Gablan finish third (5:11.53).
- Grace Weaver was the runner-up in the 1000 free (10:29.14) with Valle following in third (10:32.11).
| DIVING |
- Katerina Hoffman was crowned the winner on both of the boards, including a new PR on 1M. The freshman Scarlet Knights scored a NCAA zone mark of 310.65 on 1M marking the fifth-highest score at Rutgers and besting her previous mark of 297.90 during a fourth-place showing at the finals of the Buckeye Invitational in November. On 3M, she placed first with a score of 330.15
- Holly Prasanto was the runner-up on 1M with a 293.85 with Bailee Sturgill in third place with a score of 289.58.
- On 3M, Sturgill was the runner-up collecting 320.18 and Amelia Scott claimed third with a 316.28.

- The night ended with Rutgers capturing the top time in the 200 free relay. Grace Weaver, Molly Urkiel, Grace Hagemaster and Brooke Thompson combined for a time of 1:37.40.
