Pacheco Advances to Super Bowl LIX

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Isiah Pacheco punched his ticket to Super Bowl LIX after Kansas City defeated Buffalo, 32-29, on Sunday in the AFC Championship. Pacheco advances to his third consecutive Super Bowl, becoming the sixth former Rutgers football standout to advance to three or more Super Bowls – Devin McCourty (5), Duron Harmon (4), Harry Swayne (4), Sebastian Joseph-Day (3) and Logan Ryan (3).

Pacheco started in the backfield and finished the night with five carries and a crucial 10-yard reception in the fourth quarter during the Chiefs' final drive to help Kansas City run out the clock for the victory.

The Chiefs face Philadelphia in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, Feb. 9 in New Orleans. With a win over the Eagles, Pacheco would become the fourth Scarlet Knight in program history to win three Super Bowl rings, joining Harmon, McCourty and Swayne. Already the first running back in NFL history to start and win two Super Bowls in his first two seasons, Pacheco would become the first to start and win three consecutive championships to begin a career if he is in the stating lineup on Super Bowl Sundahy.

In Super Bowl LVIII last year, Pacheco finished with 92 yards of total offense, including 59 rushing yards and 33 receiving yards to help Kansas City to a 25-22 win over San Francisco. The Vineland, New Jersey, native contributed critical plays for the Chiefs during their game-winning drive, adding two receptions in 49ers' territory down the stretch. In two Super Bowl wins, Pacheco has tallied 33 carries for 135 rushing yards and a touchdown.

A seventh-round selection by Kansas City in 2022, Pacheco has rushed for 2,075 yards and 13 touchdowns in his first three seasons in the NFL. Despite missing nine games this past season due to injury, Pacheco finished the 2024 regular season with 310 yards on the ground and a score.
