CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Rutgers football (0-2) lost to Boston College (1-1), 28-21, on Friday night at Alumni Stadium. The Scarlet Knights turned a 17-point deficit into a one-score game, but the Eagles were able to hold on to earn the victory.

WR KJ Duff hauled in eight passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns in becoming the first Rutgers player to record at least 120 receiving yards in three consecutive games. RB Antwan Raymond ran for 134 yards and brought in a four-yard touchdown reception.

On defense, RU forced three turnovers, led by a pair of interceptions from LB Moses Walker. It marked the first two of his career, while Walker added a sack. DB Bradlee Jones also forced a fumble, which was recovered by DB Kevyn Humes.

FIRST HALF

Boston College put together a pair of early touchdown drives to jump out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. The hosts added a 30-yard field goal early in the second quarter to make it 17-0.

With 1:55 left in the half, QB AJ Surace found Raymond in the end zone for a four-yard touchdown pass, making it 17-7. The Eagles responded with a quick field goal drive to bring the score to 20-7 at halftime.

SECOND HALF

Rutgers came out of the locker room and responded well on defense, stopping the BC offense on four straight drives. On the Eagles' second drive of the half, Jones forced a fumble that Humes jumped on. Surace then found Duff Jr. on a four-yard pass to make it a one-score game at 20-14.

Boston College scored on a 78-yard pass with 7:06 remaining in the game and made it 28-14 after a successful two-point conversion.

On the very next drive, Surace found Duff again on a 60-yard touchdown pass. Their connection made it 28-21, but the Eagles were able to hold possession at the end of the game and kneel out the victory.
