Beam Team Shines in Gymnastics Season Opener in California

OCEANSIDE, Calif. – Rutgers gymnastics made their 2025 season debut with a 194.850 on Saturday evening at the American Gold Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Classic at Frontwave Arena. Rutgers defeated Southern Utah (194.750) and Wilberforce (180.275), while falling just short of Arizona (194.925) in the quad meet.
The Scarlet Knights posted their highest season opening score since 2014 - a 195.075 in dual win against New Hampsire.
The Rutgers beam squad posted the highest score of the meet on the apparatus, scoring a 49.150. All six Scarlet Knights were at 9.775 or above, with five at 9.825 or higher. Elia Aird, Jacqueline Manifold, and Gabrielle Dildy led the group with matching 9.850's. Aird and Dildy matched their career highs in the event.
The 49.150 marked Rutgers' first 49+ on beam in a season opener in program history.
Five Rutgers freshmen made their collegiate debuts in California, including Keeley Smith debuting with a 9.825 on beam and Reagan Schenkel entering the scene with a 9.825 on bars.
