PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 13 Rutgers men's soccer (8-4-2, 3-3-1 B1G) fell to No. 21 Washington (8-3-2, 5-1-0 B1G) 2-0 at Yurcak Field on Friday night. The setback marks the Scarlet Knights' first blemish at home after six straight victories to start the campaign.Â
The Huskies came out strong with a goal in the first 10 minutes of play. Despite some strong chances from the Scarlet Knights, the opposition took the lead into halftime. Â
It was more back and forth following the break. Both teams continued solid offensive play, but Washington broke through once again with another score in the 73rd minute.Â
UW would retain the 2-0 edge to secure the victory. Â

- Shots were even at 13 with five landing on net for each side, but the Scarlet Knights held the advantage in corner kicks at six to three.Â
- 21 of RU's 25 goals this season have come from newcomers. Devon Stopek and Nick Collins are the lone returners to net a goal so far, as well as a team goal. Â
- Ciaran Dalton made three saves in net on Friday night to stay fifth on the all-time career saves list with 221 stops. Â
- Dalton is the only Scarlet Knights to play all 90 minutes of all 14 matches this campaign. Â
