PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers swimming and diving wrapped up a two-day tri-meet on Saturday, hosting the University of Miami and the University of Arkansas. Across the two days, Rutgers had six swims that will be added to the top-10 on Rutgers' all-time record books. Overall, Arkansas took a 237-116 win over the Scarlet Knights and Miami edged RU 186-166.
Rutgers saw six different swims across five events placing in the top-ten all-time. That included two marks as high as fourth all-time (
Ana Hazlehurst, 400 IM and
Anna Vlachou, 100 Butterfly), as well as two sixth (
Anna Vlachou, 100 Yard Freestyle and
Emilianna Gonzalez in the 50 Yard Freestyle), a seventh (
Ana Hazlehurst, 200 IM) and a ninth (
Ellie Schinsky, 100 Butterfly).
Rutgers had two first place swims, five second place swims and four third place swims. The Scarlet Knights also had two top-three finishes in diving.
On Saturday,
Anna Vlachou swam the 100-yard freestyle in 49.62. That marked the sixth fastest time in school history. It marked her second top-10 swim of the weekend.
In the second to last race of the meet on Saturday,
Ana Hazlehurst finished first in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:01.31. That time marked a seventh place standing on RU's all-time top-10 list. It marked her second first place finish of the meet overall, as she also won the 400 yard IM on Friday with a time of 4:16.57.
In Friday's action, RU had a first place finish from
Ana Hazlehurst in the 400 Yard IM, three second place finishes and a third place relay finish. During the opening day of the meet, RU had four swims added to the program's top-10 list.
On Friday, RU had four top-10 swims in program history.
Ana Hazlehurst finished the 400 yard individual medley in 4:16.57, which ranks fourth in program history. In the 50 yard freestyle, freshman
Emilianna Gonzalez finished in 22.83, the sixth fastest time in RU history.
The Scarlet Knights also had two top marks in the 100 yard butterfly.
Anna Vlachou finished the 100 yard butterfly in 53.25, marking the fourth best time in program history.
Ellie Schinsky raced it to 54.01, setting a new personal best and ranking 9
th on the program's top-10 list, matching teammate
Cameron Kuriger's previous mark.
In diving,
Katerina Hoffman finished second on Friday in the 3-meter dive, scoring a 323.00. She placed third on Saturday in the 1-meter dive with a score of 290.35.
