Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men's Soccer Draws Michigan State, 1-1

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers men's soccer (8-5-3, 3-4-2 B1G) drew even with Michigan State (5-7-3, 2-4-3 B1G), 1-1, on Friday night at Yurcak Field.

Rutgers got on the board first as Francesco Di Ponzio scored just 12 minutes into play, on an open goal. Nestor Cabrera and Andrew Kitch fed the junior the ball after the Michigan State net minder came out to the top of the box.

Just before the end of the first half, RU was called for a hand ball in the box, which triggered a penalty kick opportunity for the Spartans. Ciaran Dalton came up with a huge save, however, to keep the Scarlet Knights ahead at the break.

With just under 10 minutes left to play in the second half, the Spartans would find the equalizer when Richie Ludwig scored off a rebounded save from Dalton.

Rutgers chased offensive chances in the final moments but couldn't finish, ending the contest with a 1-1 draw.
