Cross Country Takes On NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Field
Nov 13 | Cross Country
Piscataway, N.J. – Rutgers cross country will travel to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the 2025 NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday, Nov. 14. It will be a return visit to the Goodman race course for the Scarlet Knights, who competed on the same site at the Paul Short Run on the Lehigh campus.
"We're really excited for the regional meet this weekend," said Associate Head Coach Nicol Starkes. "The men are coming off their best Big Ten performance in program history and looking to pick off regional teams that we haven't beaten in years. They will also increase their race distance from 8K to 10K and they are ready for that challenge. The women know where they can improve on their Big Ten performance at the regional meet and have seen the exact course earlier this season. Both teams have the potential to have some All-Region finishers and some NCAA qualifiers."
The men's squad, led by Micah Lawson, put forth its best team performance at the Big Ten Championships two weeks ago with all five scorers finishing ahead of the Scarlet Knights' top runner from the previous year. Lawson has led the team in all five races this season, including a sub-24 minute time for the first time in his career at the Princeton Fall Classic.
The women's squad has led by Kelseigh O'Neil and Lorena David all season. The pair have posted top finishes for the Scarlet Knights, including O'Neil who earned a top-50 finish at the Paul Short Run in a field of more than 300 student-athletes.
