Cardin Stoller Named to Tewaaraton Award Watch List

Member of Candidates List for Top Award in Collegiate Lacrosse

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 19/20 Rutgers' men's lacrosse goalkeeper Cardin Stoller was named to the initial Watch List for the Tewaaraton Award, the organization announced on Thursday night. Stoller is one of seven goalkeepers and just seven underclassmen among the 50 players recognized as Watch List candidates for the top award in collegiate lacrosse. The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.

Stoller enters his second season as the Scarlet Knights starting goalkeeper. In year one, he was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year after posting a 54.1% save percentage last season, making 173 saves and holding a 11.24 goals-against-average. He had nine games of 10+ saves, five games of at least 15 stops, including twice making 19 saves (UMass and at Michigan) and had seven games saving over 50% and five games allowing less than 10 goals.

The Owing Mills, Md. native has had a strong start to the 2025 campaign. A Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch, the Boys Latin product has allowed just nine goals through two games, making 21 saves. He holds a save percentage of 70.0% in the early season, with a goals-against average of 4.78. Both of those marks are among the top six in the nation. Stoller's 21 saves are third most in the nation in the early going.

This is the 11th consecutive season that Rutgers has had at least one player on the Watch List. Adam CharalambidesKieran Mullins, Ross Scott, Shane Knobloch and Jules Heningburg were all on the watch list multiple times, while Ethan RallConnor KirstColin KirstMitch Bartolo, Michael Rexrode, Scott Bieda and Joe Nardella have been recognized in that span. Also previously recognized were Will Mangan, Justin Pennington, Chris O'Dougherty and Greg Havalchak. 

Players not named to this initial list will have opportunities to play their way into a spot as the season progresses. The list will be updated multiple times throughout the spring before a group of finalists are selected in May.
