PISCATAWAY, N.J. –
Lily Dixon has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week, announced Tuesday by the league office. The junior produced 11 points – including the 100th of her career – across two games for Rutgers women's lacrosse last week against No. 7 Johns Hopkins and Temple.
Dixon is the Scarlet Knights' first Offensive Player of the Week since
Marin Hartshorn in 2023. In 11 games this spring, Dixon leads the team with 39 points on 24 assists and 15 goals to go along with 22 ground balls, 19 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers.
Dixon opened with a career-high seven points on four assists and three goals to help RU to a 19-7 victory over Temple last Thursday at SHI Stadium. Dixon also tallied five draw controls, five ground balls and two caused turnovers in the win over the Owls. Dixon followed with a team-high four points on three assists and a goal against Johns Hopkins, with her third-quarter assist helping her to become the 28th player in program history to hit the century mark in career points. The Grasonville, Maryland, native also contributed three ground balls, two caused turnovers and two draw controls against the Blue Jays.
In 43 career games, Dixon has contributed 100 points on 63 assists and 37 goals. Her 63 career helpers are sixth all-time at Rutgers, as she needs four to surpass Elizabeth Chambers (1997-00) for fifth in the record book. Dixon has also produced 48 ground balls, 26 caused turnovers and 20 draw controls during her time 'On the Banks.'
Rutgers hosts No. 19 Ohio State on Sunday, March 30 in Piscataway. First draw is set for 1 p.m., with the game streamed on Big Ten Plus.
