Lexie Coldiron has been added to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, announced Thursday by the Tewaaraton Award Foundation. The list includes the top players from across the country and highlights the early contenders for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award.
It marks the fifth consecutive season at least one student-athlete from Rutgers women's lacrosse has appeared on the prestigious watch list dating back to 2021. Coldiron was also named a Midseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse/ILWomen earlier Thursday.
Coldiron has been a standout in cage for the Scarlet Knights this season, arriving 'On the Banks' after a standout four-year career at Lafayette. In 11 games, Coldiron is second in the country in saves (117) and fourth with a .522 save percentage. The Pylesville, Maryland, native, is also first in the Big Ten and 11th nationally with 10.64 saves per game, having stopped 10 or more shots six times this spring. Coldiron produced a career-high 21 saves on March 12 against then-No. 12 Princeton and also registered 19 saves in a 12-11 overtime victory over then-No. 16 Stony Brook on March 5 in Piscataway.
The netminder has put up massive career totals, needing two saves to hit 600 for her career. Her 598 career saves and 9.97 career saves per game average rank second among active career leaders, while her 148 career ground balls are the fifth most nationally heading into the second half of the season.
Rutgers hosts No. 21 Ohio State on Sunday, March 30 in Piscataway. First draw is set for 1 p.m., with the game streamed on Big Ten Plus.
