PISCATAWAY, N.J. — Junior transfer Néné Ndiaye has become the newest member of the Rutgers women's basketball as announced by head coach Coquese Washington Monday morning. Ndiaye arrives "On The Banks" as an incoming junior from Boston College.
"Néné Ndiaye is an outstanding athlete, whose length speed and quickness will be impactful on both ends of the floor," Washington said. "She is dynamic in transition offensively and has the ability to finish at the rim with creativity. Defensive intensity is a strength and adding her defensive mindset to our team is a definite plus."
During her sophomore season, Ndiaye appeared in 30 games and made 10 starts. She scored a career high 16 points and tied a season-best six rebounds at Pittsburgh (Feb. 6). The 6-foot-1 forward ended the season averaging 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game and netted points in 23 outings.
As a freshman, Ndiaye appeared in 30 of 33 games with one start. She hit the scoring column in 23 contests and shot a solid 82.9 percent from the charity stripe, hitting 29 of her 35 attempts. In addition, the Saly, Senegal native was also an Academic All-ACC selection.
Prior to her time as an Eagle, she played for the Senegal U18 National Team and in the 2020 Afrobasket Tournament. She averaged 16 points per game in 2018 and was the Most Valuable Player for her U14 Spain squad. Ndiaye played for Arizona Compass Prep and was a member of California Storm Team Taurasi for travel ball. She attended high school at Orangewood Academy in Garden Grove, California.
