Gymnastics Staff Named WCGA Regional Coaches of the Year

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers gymnastics acting head coach Anastasia Candia has been named the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) Region 3 Head Coach of the Year and staff members Danielle DeMarco and Michael Rosso have been named WCGA Region 3 Assistant Coaches of the Year.
Celebrating the 50th year of Rutgers gymnastics, Candia, DeMarco, Rosso, and assistant coach Stephanie Zannella led the 2025 Scarlet Knights to its first NCAA Regional Championships since 2014 with an NQS of 195.890. They clinched its NCAA berth with a 196.225 at the Big Ten Championships, its best performance at the conference meet since joining the league in 2015.
The 2025 Scarlet Knights scored three of the program's top eight scores in its history, while posting two of its top six bars scores and two of its top nine beam scores. RU also recorded 16 victories this season, its most since 2014.
The Scarlet Knights sent three individuals to the NCAA Regional Championships (Delaney Adrian, Gabrielle Dildy, and Rachael Riley), with Riley tying the school record on beam this season with her 9.950. Adrian posted a season-high of 39.300 in the all-around, while Dildy scored four 9.9's (three on beam and one on floor).
Rutgers' Big Ten and NCAA Championships lineups featured eight unique underclassmen (five freshmen and three sophomores).
