PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's soccer played to a 0-0 draw against Air Force on Sunday afternoon at Yurcak Field. The Scarlet Knights (2-0-2) registered 12 shots with six on target but were unable to find a breakthrough against the Falcons (0-3-1).
RU was able to create early chances, with
Allie Post having a shot blocked and
Kennedi Cotter having a chance saved, both inside 10 minutes.Â
In the first 45 minutes, the Scarlet Knights got off eight shots and forced Air Force's goalkeeper to make saves, with the game knotted up at 0-0 at halftime.Â
Rutgers put another two shots on frame in the second half, with multiple chances deflected by the Falcons' defense. RU goalkeeper
Olivia Bodmer was up to the task on her end of the field, making four saves in the second half to preserve the shutout. With the result, Bodmer picked up her second shutout of the season and 18th of her career. She is now up to 20 saves on the season with just one goal allowed.Â
Rutgers is back in action next Sunday against UConn, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. at Yurcak Field.Â
