PISCATAWAY, N.J.- Rutgers field hockey is excited to welcome letterwinners back to campus for a special Letterwinners Weekend on October 17-19. Across Rutgers' homecoming weekend, the Scarlet Knights will host letterwinners for a variety of events across two home games for the field hockey program.
Letterwinners weekend will start this year on Friday, October 17. The Scarlet Knights are set to host the Northwestern Wildcats, the defending national champions and currently ranked No. 1 program. The game will start at 4 p.m. and also be nationally televised by Big Ten Network. Following the game, letterwinners are invited to a special evening Happy Hour event.
On Saturday, October 18, the field hockey practice will have a practice beginning at 10:15 a.m. that is open to letterwinners. Later that day, the football team hosts Oregon for a homecoming night game with letterwinners having the opportunity to get together alongside the Boardwalk, pep rally and other festivities taking place outside SHI Stadium prior to the nighttime kickoff.
On Sunday, Rutgers will host another Big Ten foe in Iowa for a noon game. Prior to the game will be a letterwinner tailgate. Letterwinners are also invited to a special pregame Scarlet Walk and to join in with the team as anthem buddies prior to pushback against the Hawkeyes.
The Letterwinners Weekend has been a highlight for the team in previous years, and an energizing event for the team. The celebration has become an annually anticipated event, with large groups of former student-athletes returning to their alma mater to take in a game and reunite with former teammates.
