PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers rowing head coach Justin Price has announced the addition of two assistant coaches, William Rafferty and Margaret Dail, to his Scarlet Knights staff.
"We're incredibly excited to welcome both Will and Margaret to our staff for the 2025-26 school year," said Price. "They bring a great mix of experience, energy, and enthusiasm that will help make our team better. I am thrilled they are both here and excited to get to work with them and our entire team."

Rafferty arrives on "On The Banks" after serving as an assistant coach at Oregon State for the last four seasons.
While on staff with the Beavers, Oregon State finished at No. 21 at the IRA National Championship in 2025 along with a 10th-place showing by the Men's Championship Fours at the 2024 Head of the Charles Regatta, a No. 22 finish at the 2023 IRA Championships and the Varsity 8 winning the fourth final to place 19th overall at the 2022 IRA Championship.
Most recently, in August of 2025, Rafferty coached the Penn AC men's U23 program to a third-place finish in the U23 4x at the Royal Canadian Henley Regatta.
No stranger to New Jersey, Rafferty previously worked with the Moorestown Rowing Club and South Jersey Rowing Club as an assistant coach. During his stint with the Moorestown Rowing Club, Rafferty coached the men's varsity program, including two U17 boats and a U19 boat to grand finals in the U23 category.
Scholastically, Rafferty was a varsity rower at Marietta College, primarily as a port-side oarsman. He raced in the Varsity 8 at the IRA Championships in 2021 and competed in the Dad Vail Regatta on three occasions. A two-time All-Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference honoree, he was also the recipient of Marietta's J. Ellis McDonald Award.
A 2021 graduate of Marietta College, Rafferty earned a bachelor's degree in economics.

Dail joins the Scarlet Knights after spending the last two seasons at George Washington following a standout career at the University of Texas.
As a member of the Revolutionaries staff in 2025, Dail was the lead coach of the Varsity 4 and 2nd Varsity 4 that included a program-best second-place finish at the Atlantic 10 Championships.
Prior to joining the George Washington staff, Dail was a volunteer coach for her alma mater as Texas finished fourth at the NCAA Championships in 2023 and earned CRCA Regional and Big 12 Staff of the Year honors.Â
Dail began her coaching career coaching both Juniors and Masters with the Austin Rowing Club. While with the program, a program-best five boats qualified for the 2022 Youth National Championship.
Also at the club level, Dail was an assistant coach with the junior men at Penn AC Gold in summer 2025, capturing five top-two finishes at the Independence Day Regatta and eight top-two finishes at the USRowing RowFest National Championships.
As a student-athlete, Dail was a three-time NCAA Championship medalist and helped the Longhorns to four Big 12 Championships between 2015-19. As team captain, she was the 2019 national runner-up with the 2nd Varsity 8+.
A 2019 graduate of the University of Texas, Dail earned a bachelor's degree in history and is currently working towards her Master's in sport management at George Washington.
Rutgers women's rowing program celebrated its 50th varsity season in 2025 by placing eighth at the NCAA Championships, winning a program-record six medals as runner-up at the Big Ten Championships and winning the Island Challenge Cup at the Henley Royal Regatta. Four Scarlet Knights were named CRCA All-Americans, five earned All-Big Ten honors and two landed Big Ten All-Freshman accolades, including Big Ten Freshman of the Year. Additionally, four members of the squad competed for their home countries at the U23 World Championships.
