ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Rutgers women's golf finished play at the Wolverine Invitational on Monday in Ann Arbor. Sophomore
Joline Truong carded a top-20 finish, including a three-under-par 68 in the opening round, to highlight action for the Scarlet Knights at the U-M Golf Course.
After leading the 81-player field in the first round, Truong closed her first tournament of the season tied for 16th. Truong rolled in nine birdies across three rounds, including six in the first round. Rookie

Grace Lu (T38th) joined Truong in the top 40.
The trio's performance on Monday moved RU up the leaderboard to tie for ninth in the 15-team field. RV Kent State secured the team title with a 17-over-par team result, followed by No. 18 Virginia (+23) and RV Iowa State (+26). ISU's Pimkwan Chookaew won the individual title with her five-under-par 208 (69-67-72).
"We had some better stretches of golf today," said head coach
Kari Williams. "The pins were challenging for the final round and tested us on these green complexes. Ellie, Grace, and Joline put together strong final rounds and did well to help us move up into a tie for ninth."
Round 3 – Monday, September 8th
Weather: Sunny, Temps in the high-50s, 5-15 mph winds
Lu soared up the leaderboard in the final round thanks to her two-over-par 73, finishing tied for 38th in the field. Her performance included birdies on holes seven, 11 and 13, while her 10 pars paced her play for a strong finish.
Ryu also enjoyed a productive afternoon with her second three-over-par 74 in as many rounds. Truong improved from her second round, collecting birdies on holes 10, 11 and 13 en route to a four-over-par 75.

Round 2 – Sunday, September 7th
Weather: Sunny, Temps in the mid-60s, 10-20 mph winds
After a tough start to her second round, Truong finished strong with eight pars in her final nine holes of the day to finish 13th heading into Monday.
Ryu impressed with three birdies on holes seven, 11 and 17, finishing with a three-over-par 74 to move up to 36th on the leaderboard. Li also ended the day within the top 50, closing Sunday tied for 45th with a seven-over-par 78.
Lu carded a five-over-par 76, while Amano closed out the team scorecard with an 82, sinking a birdie on the 17th hole.
"We had some positives through today's two rounds," Williams said. "Joline played well in the morning to post a 68 and did a great job of attacking the course when she could. Ellie's play today was solid across her two first collegiate rounds. We made some strategic errors on the course today, especially when the wind picked up in the afternoon. I feel confident that we'll come out firing on all cylinders for tomorrow's final round."
Round 1 – Sunday, September 7th
Weather: Sunny, Temps in mid-50s, 5-15 mph winds
Truong got off to a hot start, carding the lowest 18-hole score of the opening round with a three-under-par 68 to top the leaderboard. Truong rolled in an opening-round best six birdies, including four in her final nine holes.
Li rolled in a birdie on the 18th hole en route to a four-over-par 75, while Amano added birdies on holes 12 and 17 for a five-over-par 76. Ryu (77) and Lu (78) rounded out the team scorecard.
Thanks to its strong star, Rutgers was fifth after its opening round, trailing only Big Ten foes Purdue and Illinois among conference entrants.
