
Track and Field Concludes Indoor Season at NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, ARK. – Rutgers track and field closed out the indoor campaign at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships on Friday, Marchin Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Scarlet Knights competed in a pair of events with Brian and Kevin O'Sullivan in the pole vault, while Chris Serrao ran the 60-meter hurdles.
It was the first NCAA indoor championship appearance for the trio who previously qualified for the outdoor championships in prior seasons. Serrao and Kevin O'Sullivan competed in Eugene, Oregon during the 2025 season and Brian O'Sullivan earned a trip to Hayward Field in 2024.
The three Scarlet Knights earned Second Team All-American honors at the conclusion if their events in Arkansas. Brian O'Sullivan placed 10th, clearing a height of 5.50m (18' 0.5"), followed by Kevin O'Sullivan in 12th, also clearing 5.50m (18' 0.5"). Serrao ran a time of 7.98 in the 60-meter hurdles.
Entering the week, the O'Sullivan brothers and Serrao were coming off medal-winning performances in the 2026 Big Ten Indoor Championships. Brian O'Sullivan led the group with a silver in the pole vault, while Kevin added a bronze and Serrao secured a bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles.
The Scarlet Knights will begin the outdoor portion of the 2026 season on Friday, March 20 with a trip to South Florida for the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa and the Miami Invitational in Coral Gables.
