PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior Gabrielle Dildy and graduate student Emily Leese both earned All-Big Ten honors from the conference, as announced on Wednesday.
Dildy earned All-Big Ten First Team honors, the first Scarlet Knight to do so since Hannah Joyner in 2023 and joining Joyner and Belle Huang as the only Rutgers gymnasts to be named to the conference's first team.
The honor for Dildy comes after a breakout all-around season that saw her compete in all four events for the first time and setting or matching a career high in three-of-four events. Her all-around score of 39.525 at the Rutgers March Quad was the second highest in program history, while she set or matched a career-high on vault (9.900), bars (9.925) and floor (9.950) throughout the year.
Leese battled her way back after missing all of last year with an achilles injury for a record-setting final season as a Scarlet Knight. At the Pink Invitational earlier in the month, she broke her own program record on vault with a 9.950 and matched a career high on floor with a 9.925. Her performance also earned her Big Ten Specialist of the Week honors. In addition to the Second Team nod, Leese also received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
The combination of Dildy and Leese also give RU a pair of all-conference honorees for the first time since Joyner and Huang received All-Big Ten honors in 2022.
Next up for Rutgers is Big Ten Championships, hosted by Illinois this weekend. The Scarlet Knights will compete in the first group at 7 p.m. Friday on Big Ten Network.
