
Rowing Comes In At #12 In CRCA Poll

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers women's rowing moved into No. 12 in the week six CRCA Pocock Collegiate Rowing Association Poll released on Tuesday.
Rutgers has competed at the Ivy League Invitational and Doc Hosea this season.
Last weekend at the Ivy League Invitational, the Third Varsity 4 captured wins over #6 Princeton, #7 Virginia and #9 Brown and the Varsity 4 and Second Varsity 4 took home victories over #6 Princeton. Additionally, the Varsity 4 saw a close finish in its third-place showing, coming in 1.692 seconds behind runner-up #9 Brown and 3.092 seconds behind first-place #7 Virginia. RU's Third Varsity finished third, narrowly behind #11 Brown by 2.156 seconds.
Two of the Scarlet Knight boats were named Big Ten Boats of the Week for their performance at Doc Hosea to open the season. The Varsity 4 placed second and was only 0.5 seconds behind the first-place boat from #3 Yale and outstroked #16 Penn by 14.2 seconds in the morning session, while in the afternoon, RU earned the victory, edging #12 Syracuse by 7.7 seconds
The Third Varsity 4, meanwhile, won both sessions at Doc Hosea. In the morning, RU outpaced #3 Yale by 49.5 seconds and #12 Syracuse by 52.5 seconds. Later in the day, the Scarlet Knights met up again with Orange and bested #12 Syracuse with a 54.2-second margin of victory.
