Driscoll Posts School Record, Leads Four-Gold Performance at Penn Relays

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field swept the men's and women's long jump titles, won the men's pole vault and added a school record in the women's triple jump, rounding out a stellar weekend at the 130th Penn Relays at Franklin Field.
"We always look forward to competing at the historic Penn Relays," said Bobby Farrell, director of track & field and cross country. "This was a great year, bringing home four golds and a school record. I'm proud of the effort all around. We're looking forward to one final tuneup next week at Princeton and LSU, then it's the Big Ten Championships."
Llyric Driscoll was responsible for the first event win of the weekend as she took first place in the college triple jump on Friday, recording a school record distance of 12.82m (42' 0.75").
Sincere Robinson repeated as a Penn Relays Champion, adding to his 2024 victory with a victory on Sunday in the long jump. He placed first with a jump of 7.65m (25' 1.25"). Celine-Jada Brown added the title on the women's side as she won with a distance of 6.35m (20' 10").
The Scarlet Knights went 1-2 in the pole vault as Brian O'Sullivan cleared the winning height of 5.57m (18' 3.25") on his first attempt. He was followed by his brother Kevin O'Sullivan who placed second with an identical height (5.57m/18' 3.25").
The Scarlet Knights opened competition at the Penn Relays with a runner-up finish and a pair of top 10 all-time times on the track. Bryce Tucker finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 50.63. Micah Lawson ran the second-fastest time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, clocking 8:49.58, while Liam Tilton improved on his No. 3 ranked time in the 5,000-meter as he finished with a time of 14:11.88.
The Scarlet Knights will take part in a pair of tune-up meets in advance of the 2026 Big Ten Outdoor Championships. Rutgers will compete in the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton on May 1-2 and the LSU Invitational on May 2.
