PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The first piece of Rutgers wrestling's 2026-27 schedule has been finalized, as the Scarlet Knights will compete in the prestigious National Duals Invitational Dec. 12-13, 2026 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The National Duals Invitational is a premier collegiate wrestling event featuring 16 of the top NCAA Division I teams competing for a total purse of more than $1 million. The Invitational offers substantial payouts to participating programs, including $250,000 to the championship team.
"We're extremely excited to participate in this year's National Duals Invitational," said head coach Scott Goodale. "Last year's Invitational showed just how much interest there is in competitive dual showcases. As a huge dual meet guy, I cannot wait to bring our program to Tulsa to wrestle against the country's best on a national stage."
Other participating schools include Arizona State, Arkansas-Little Rock, Iowa State, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, NC State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Virginia Tech and Wyoming. The Buckeyes won last year's inaugural event, which featured 16 teams that had combined for more than 60 NCAA team titles and over 450 individual national champions.
Rutgers finished No. 11 in the final NWCA Coaches Poll for the second consecutive year in 2025-26. The Scarlet Knights closed the regular season on a six-match winning streak, which included the program's first-ever win over then-No. 6 Minnesota to help RU to its best regular season Big Ten finish. Under Goodale, Rutgers secured nine NCAA qualifiers, its most since 2016.
