
Paneque & Kolpan Reach Podium on Day One of Big Ten Championships

LINCOLN, Neb. – Both Robert Paneque (seventh place) and Justin Kolpan (eighth place) earned spots on the javelin podium to highlight Rutgers track and field's performance at the opening day of the Big Ten Championships on Friday. The three-day meet is being hosted by Nebraska.
Paneque had his best showing in three trips to Big Ten Championships with a mark of 67.25m, while Kolpan finished right behind (65.57m) in his debut at the event.
In action on the track, Bryce Tucker placed second overall in the first round of the 400m hurdles after running a 50.54 to win his heat, .01 off the current leader and the third best time in program history. He will run in Sunday's final.
Kelseigh O'Neil took 10th place in the 10,000m final (34:51.11) on the women's side. The time ranks third in program history and the best for a Scarlet Knight at this meet.
Action continues Saturday at the Big Ten Championships.
