Volleyball Announces 2026 Big Ten Schedule

The 17-date conference schedule will feature nine home dates, including contests with Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, USC, Michigan and UCLA, who all advanced to last year's NCAA Tournament.
The Big Ten slate kicks off with a pair of road games late in September. RU travels to Nebraska on Friday, Sept. 25, for the start of conference play and heads to Iowa on Saturday, Sept. 26.
Rutgers opens October on the road at Ohio State on Thursday, Oct. 1 and returns home for a three-game stretch, including Indiana on Sunday, Oct. 4, during Homecoming Weekend, Minnesota on Friday, Oct. 9 and UCLA on Saturday, Oct. 10. The Scarlet Knights head west to meet up with Washington on Friday, Oct. 16 and Oregon on Sunday, Oct. 18. RU will host Michigan State on Friday, Oct. 23 and Illinois on Saturday, Oct. 24 and close out the month heading to Purdue on Thursday, Oct. 29 and Northwestern on Saturday, Oct. 31.
The Scarlet Knights will be at home for four of their five matches in November. Rutgers welcomes Michigan on Thursday, Nov. 5, USC on Saturday, Nov. 7, Wisconsin on Wednesday, Nov. 11, and Maryland in the home regular season finale on Friday, Nov. 13. RU travels to Penn State on Tuesday, Nov. 17, to close out the regular season.
The Big Ten Tournament will be held November 20-25, 2026, at Fishers Event Center, home of Major League Volleyball's Indy Ignite, with the top 15 teams in the regular-season standings qualifying for the tournament.
In addition to the release of the Big Ten schedule, the conference has announced the return of the Big Ten | Discover Volleyball Challenge. Each team will compete in five designated Challenge matches, with the winner determined by the highest win total across the five matches. A trophy is awarded to the winning team. Challenge contests will be all weekday matches in the month of October. Rutgers challenge opponents include Ohio State, Minnesota, Washington, Michigan State and Purdue.
All dates are subject to change with TV/stream designations and times to be released later this summer. The full nonconference schedule, which will include the previously released Big Ten/SEC Challenge contests with Arkansas and Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tennessee, in early September, will be released at a future date.
