Field Hockey to Celebrate 5-Year Anniversary of 2021 Big Ten Tournament Champions

2021 Team to Be Recognized as Part of Letterwinners Weekend on October 16-18
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers field hockey will host its annual Letterwinners Weekend this year on October 16-18. Surrounding two Scarlet Knight games and letterwinners events will be a special commemoration as the program will honor the 2021 Big Ten Tournament champions on the five-year anniversary of the program's tournament championship.
Rutgers will host a pair of foes on that weekend, with Michigan visiting on Friday, October 16 (3 pm) and Michigan State in town on Sunday, October 18 (noon game). Sunday's game will be the annual Letterwinner Day celebration, where the 2021 Rutgers team will be honored. It is also the program's Senior Day celebration.
In 2021, Rutgers hosted the Big Ten Tournament for the first time in program history, and the Scarlet Knights won the event. The Scarlet Knights were the first Rutgers program to win a Big Ten Tournament and remain the only Rutgers' women's program to win a tournament championship.
During that 2021 season, Rutgers set records with 19 wins, 13 ranked wins, seven ranked road wins, six top-10 wins and six Big Ten Conference wins. The team won the tournament by earning three victories in four days on their home turf, downing Indiana, No. 7 Penn State and then No. 2 Michigan for the title. 1,617 fans attended the Big Ten Championship game in Piscataway, the largest crowd in the NCAA that season. The Scarlet Knights earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament that year and advance to the Elite Eight.
RU had four All-Big Ten selections that year, highlighted by Big Ten Co-Player of the Year. The Scarlet Knights had five all-region players, with Glatz joined by Kerrie Burns and Katie Larmour on the First Team, and Milena Redlingshoefer and Liz Romano on the Second Team. Glatz was a First Team All-American and Larmour was a Second Team All-American. Following the tournament championship, Glatz was named to the Big Ten's All-Tournament Team, and Kerrie Burns was named the Big Ten Tournament MVP.
