Shutte on Wheatley: “Chase went back to his old swing coach from high school and got back to the level we knew he could perform at. He competed and competed well over the summer and I think he’s in a much better place. He has great talent and he’s a lot more open to coaching. Chase is a guy who could surprise us this year and someone we’re really optimistic about.”
FALL 2016: Competed at the Windon Memorial Classic in Glenview, Illinois (Sept. 25-26) and finished tied for 73rd.
SPRING 2016: Competed in two tournaments with a season-low 18-hole score of 74 ... competing individually, finished tied for 62nd with a 12-over-par 156 (79-77) at the Seahawk Intercollegiate (March 20-21) … competing individually, finished tied for 85th with a 27-over-par 240 (81-74-85) at the Bob Sitton Invitational (March 15-17).
FALL 2015: Shot a 244 (82-84-78) to finish tied for 74th at the Badger Invitational (9/27-9/29) ... tied for a team-low, 18-hole score of 69, helping RU secure second place at the Rutgers Invitational (9/11-12).
SPRING 2015: Finished with a 239 (79-82-78) at the Colleton River Collegiate (3/9-10) ... competed against three schools, defeating Nebraska during Big Ten Match Play (2/15-16).
FALL 2014: Participated in both the Badger Invitational (9/28-30) and the Rutgers Invitational (9/19-20), where he finished T-36 with a 224 (78-73-73) scorecard.
SPRING 2014: Played in three events (nine rounds) ... tied for 44th at the Rutherford Intercollegiate with a 225 ... improved in every round of the Princeton Invitational to card a 233 (80-78-75) ... made his season debut at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate, carding a 235.
FALL 2013: Competed in two events, playing in six rounds ... placed tied for 20th out of 90 competitors at the Rutgers Invitational, carding a 221 (75-73-73).
