James Catanzarite serves as the Director of Operations for the Rutgers Field Hockey program, starting ahead of the 2023 program. He originally joined Rutgers Athletics as an Olympic Sports Coordinator working directly with the Scarlet Knight field hockey and softball programs in July of 2021.
In his position, Catanzarite works closely with the coaching staffs to assist with team operations including travel, meals, expenses, events, recruiting.
"We are thrilled to have Jimmy join our program full time," head coach Meredith Civico said. "As a person and a Rutgers graduate, he embodies everything Rutgers Field Hockey is about. Selfless, hardworking, honest and genuine, we are are so happy he is part of R family."
A graduate of the State University of New Jersey, Catanzarite is familiar to Rutgers Athletics having spent two seasons as Scarlet Knight baseball’s head student manager and previously serving as a Rutgers Athletics Facilities & Operations Intern. Additionally, he was a Sport Club Graduate Intern Supervisor with Rutgers Recreation assisting over 50 sport club organizations and worked as a graduate intern in academic support at Seton Hall.
On the field, Catanzarite also has experience as a Little League coach.
A native of Livingston, New Jersey, Catanzarite graduated from Rutgers in 2019 with a degree in sport management and recently received his Master’s in education.
