Bryant Knibbs

Former Scarlet Knight Bryant Knibbs, who has been a part of the Scarlet Knight sideline since 2012, begins his second season as the Director of Rutgers Men's Soccer Operations.

Knibbs began his coaching career at Rutgers in 2012, joining the staff as a graduate assistant and spent the following four seasons as an assistant. During his coaching career, RU made a late season run in the American Athletic Conference Tournament in 2013, transitioned to the Big Ten in 2014 and returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2015 with a 12-7-2 overall record, the most wins since 2001.

A four-year letterwinner in the midfield from 2008-11, Knibbs appeared in 72 contests for the Scarlet Knights and helped lead Rutgers to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament as a senior in 2011.

During his senior campaign, the Scarlet Knights captured one of the best turnarounds in BIG EAST history, finishing second in the Red Division, and earned an at-large berth to the 2011 NCAA Tournament. During the tournament run, Knibbs and the Scarlet Knights gave RU its first third round appearance since 2001, defeating Colgate and upsetting No. 4 and eighth-ranked Boston College along the way. Knibbs totaled 21 starts on the season and was among the Scarlet Knights' top point totalers with four goals and three assists.

The former Scarlet Knight was the recipient of the Richard Ferraro Award, given to RU's most inspirational player, as a sophomore in 2009 and was the George Dochat Sportmanship Award winner as a senior in 2011.

Knibbs came to Rutgers as a two-time all-state and first team regional selection out of Pine Bush High School in New York. He played for four seasons on New York ODP, earning Regional All-American honors, and played with the Wallkill Fire from 1999-2008.

Knibbs earned his undergraduate degree in sociology in 2012 and a master's degree in management and labor studies in 2015.
